Last weekend my little niece celebrated her 1st birthday. It was outdoors at a great park where all the kids, big & little, could run around. It was a gorgeous day too! Here are a few pics I snapped of the birthday girl…

As you can tell I’ve been a little MIA from the blog this month. I have been so busy with life as a mom/photographer, working out 4-5 days a week and starting to plan my baby boy’s 6th b-day party. Also, I’m sad to report I lasted only about a month of my project 365. lol. Although I won’t be adding a picture a day anymore, I am trying to take more photos of daily life!
On this past Valentine’s Day I had the pleasure of assisting Jaime, of Couture Weddings, with Angela & Bill’s gorgeous Gainesville wedding. I had such a great time! Thanks so much Bill & Angela for sharing your special day with me! And to Jaime who not only let me assist, but also let me drive her car after I got a little car sick on the way back home.
Here are a couple of my faves that I captured that day…

what photographers do for fun…

Take pictures of course! I got together with the amazing Jaime, from Jaime Smith Photography last weekend and we had a blast shooting each other. When Jaime asked if I wanted to get together my immediate response was YES. I think as a photographer you should be in front of the camera at least once so you know how your poor clients feel. It was so much fun and we got new shots for our website in the process. We got all dolled up and everything! Check out how gorgeous my girl Jaime looks in these shots…

and here are two of the shots that Jaime rocked of me. I LOVE them!

I had the pleasure of photographing 2 cuties for the National Charity Model Search today. These two are models in the making. They worked it for the camera and it shows! Here are two teasers shots for mom.

Momma got a new lens!! | cherry street photography [fun]

It’s late and hubby comes home from going out to dinner with some friends. He says he has some good news for me…that I can buy the new lens I’ve been wanting! I didn’t debate at all, the next day I immediately ordered the Nikkor 35mm f/2.0. There are of course some REALLY fab other lenses that I want, but they are all a little over budget at the moment and I’ve really been eyeing the 35mm f/2.0. It arrived on a Monday. Probably one of the worst days it could arrive. Mondays are hectic and after errands, the gym, picking up the kids, gymnastics and dinner, I’m way to exhausted to play. Good news is that I got to play on Tuesday.
This lens seriously ROCKS! I was a little nervous b/c it seems luck of the draw whether you get a sharp or a soft copy. Thankfully I got a razor sharp copy! This baby could cut glass! LOVE it!

And here is my day 20 of project 365…(I told you it was sharp!

Project 365, day 18-19
February 4, 2009 | Filed Under Biz | Leave a Comment
Almost done with the editing of pics and then I’ll finish posting what I have. Here are days 18 & 19…
Just a snap of a part of my fridge. Some old photobooth pics of me & the kiddos, a Chili’s take-out magnet so I don’t have to search for the number when I need it and some paper reminders…

I got a new lens on day 19, but I didn’t really have much time to play with it. I’ll post those for day 20, but on day 19 this was all I got. ![]()

Project 365…catching up

I have fallen way behind on not just posting my 365, but also taking them! I am going to get caught up on posting and then get back on the photo taking wagon.
Here are days 13-17…
day 13 – I took this one on my iPhone waiting in the car line to pick up the kiddos. A good sample of what is inspiration for me. I love the bright orange color of the wall, but paired with that awesome Madonna poster, I was in love with the whole thing! btw, I loved the Madonna poster soooo much that I wanted one for myself, but I could only find one on ebay that was in good enough condition and I missed the ending of the auction. ![]()

day 14 – funny story behind this pic. See that meat thermometer? It was a Christmas present from my dear sister. It was somewhat a gag gift. See, Thanksgiving was at our house this year for the first time and being that I have never cooked a turkey in my life, it came out a little under cooked. Luckily we had some experienced cooks in the house and we stuck it back in the oven and it turned out beautifully in the end. We just ate a few hours later than expected.

day 15 – nothing special about this pic. Another iphone shot. I was thinking about how late my daughter’s voice teacher was running seeing as the lessons are supposed to start at 5:30pm and she had just gotten called back into the room when I took this shot. For a 30 min lesson that is running REALLY late.

day 16 – just a shot of my new magazine I got that day. It’s a really cool new wedding magazine. This is the first issue I believe.

day 17 – a shot of the yummy bruschetta I made that day. We had company coming over so I wanted to make a good appetizer. I had never made bruschetta before, but it turned out sooooooo good! It was a Giada De Laurentiis recipe, but I did only half of the olive oil and added some onion. I used the left overs on some pasta the next day and it was just as yummy!
