Lookie who I found tucked under a towel on the patio. I went outside to take the previous Starbucks cup pics and found this little guy. He was scared as all get out, but he sat & posed nicely for a few before he went through one of the holes on the table and hid. :)

My day started like all my other weekdays…

I went to bed too late, then I’m tired & cranky in the morning waiting until the last minute before I force myself out of my warm cozy bed. In my semi state of consciousness I can hear the ramblings of my 8yr old & 5yr old chatting back & forth (this morning one was singing the ABC’s over & over & over again). They’re so darn chipper in the morning! They definitely didn’t get that from ME! I call an occasional reminder to them to keep eating instead of being so chatty. Can’t blame the chattiness on them too much, they get it honest.

When the time comes I finally drag my butt into the kitchen so I can get them upstairs to get dressed, or more often pull clothes out of the dryer or off my dresser for them to get dressed. While they’re supposed to be doing that I wash my face & try to wake up, giving an occasional jealous glance to the still sleeping hubby sawing logs. Caitlin normally gets dressed and brushes teeth without much of a delay, but Hayden on the other hand still gets easily distracted. He’ll be upstairs “getting dressed” for 15 minutes and when he finally trots downstairs he’ll have jeans on and no shirt or shoes. You think, how the heck have you been up there for 15 min and you only have your stinkin’ jeans on! We eventually all get dressed and head out the door without a minute to spare.

Ah, the joy of school mornings. Torture during the week, but I still wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world. If I can sit back & take in all that is happening, I can smile at how cute he is singing the ABC’s & bouncing around in the morning…I can be proud that my girlie is such a sweet big sister that puts up with most of his craziness and is very helpful by packing her own lunch. However, I don’t normally have that kind of insight during the hurry-up-we-are-running-late time. Normally I’m annoyed & stressed out and then decide that I need to treat myself to a Starbucks because, well, I deserve it! At least that’s what I tell myself. ;)

Without further ado, here is my beloved, de-stresser, because-I-deserve-it, Grande Iced Caramel Pumpkin Spice latte w/no whip cream and a straw twice the size of the cup.

I’ve been tagged before, but I figured I’d play along and keep the game going.

Miss Stacy tagged me this time. :)

I’m supposed to name 6 Unspectacular quirks about myself.

1. I have an obsessive/compulsive need to “clean” the table when we go out to eat. I wipe all the crumbs & water spots with my napkin and stack the finished plates & trash together throughout the meal. The crazy part is that I only do that when we go out. It doesn’t bother me at home. LOL

2. I frequently talk to inanimate objects. Telling them to behave, move out of my way, how their day was, etc. I never said I was normal. :P

3. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist and if I can’t do it “right”, I just don’t do it. Hence, a lot of things don’t get done around here much to my husbands dismay.

4. According to my dh, I don’t clean, I straighten.

5. I have to fold the laundry straight from the dryer. If I don’t get it as soon as they finish then I’ll just heat up the clothes again to get the wrinkles out. I hate folding wrinkly clothes and I hate ironing even more!

6. I get motion sickness something awful. I have to sit at least in the middle of the movie theatre and sometimes I even have to close my eyes during the movie if there’s too much action. It’s a total buzzkill.

RULES:

1. Link the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 following bloggers by linking them & leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they have been tagged. (coming soon)

And since a post without a picture is just cruel, here’s a details shot from my girlie’s birthday party this past weekend.

Free to Succeed…

When I heard THE David Jay was going on tour and he was coming to Orlando, I knew I had to get a ticket. DJ is an amazing wedding photographer out in California. I heard him speak at a photography convention this past January and he was very inspiring. So, I got together with some other local photographers and we carpooled down to Orlando for the seminar. Unfortunately we all had kiddos that had to get to school in the morning so we had to drive back home that night. We left Jax around 3pm (amazingly didn’t hit much traffic in the Orlando area thank goodness) and I arrived back home a little after 2am. I was exhausted the next day! It was well worth it though. Okay, okay, so DJ is somewhat of a cutie. But that’s not why it was worth it (not the whole reason why anyway ;) ). He really does have some great information to share. He’s so sincere and kind hearted that you just want to bottle him up and carry him in your pocket. I came away refreshed, inspired and armed with some great ideas to spice up the business.

Here’s a shot of us with DJ (that’s me in the green in case you’re wondering) :)

This precious girl is a big 6 months old. Which is probably THE best time for getting pictures taken. Sitting up, but not able to run away yet. LOL. In another couple of months she’ll be crawling and exploring and not interested one bit in my shanigans. However, on this day, Miss K was a delightful subject. Poor thing is teething so she kept chewing on her little lips. Which isn’t terrible as I love those cute faces they start making at this age. She caught on to my attention-getting tricks very quickly though. After a few times she decided there were more interesting subjects that needed her attention. I had so much fun photographing her. Almost gave me the itch for another babe……..ALMOST. (don’t go getting your hopes up grandparents. I’m DONE! :) )

My big girl is turning 8!!

Am I really old enough to have an 8 yr old?! Hold on….double checking….yep, I’m old enough. Darn! :)

My girlie is turning 8 in a little over a week. She’s such a sweetie and has such a good heart. She’s an awesome big sister too. We took some quick birthday shots earlier this week and she was actually a very willing model (usually she hates it).

Here are some of my favorites and a peek at her invites…

Odds & Ends…

It’s been a little while since I posted so this post is going to be a little bit of everything.

Firstly, I hope everyone is drying out after Fay decided to grace us with her presence for several days. We had it pretty lucky considering. The worst part about Fay for us, was the “togetherness”. We were stuck inside for days and we all got a little sick of each other. And now we have Hanna approaching. Oy. Let’s just hope she stays on her projected path. Anyhoo, here’s a picture I snapped on my iPhone of the calm before the storm.

Blast from the past: I was going through some stuff on my desk and I pulled out a journal that’s been sitting there forever. I pulled it out b/c I started working out again and I wanted to use it for my food/workout journal. I opened it up only to find something interesting right inside the cover. I found the first sonogram picture from when I was pregnant with my second, Hayden. He wasn’t even a “peanut” yet! I showed it to the kids and got all sentimental on them. Hayden thought it was pretty cool. He had a huge smile on his face while I was talking to them a little about the process of a baby growing inside the mum’s tum. I thought it’d be fun to share the first picture of our little man.

OLD PICTURE…..I AM NOT PREGO. :)

And one more thing I have to share is that I totally forgot to wish my hubs a public Happy Birthday. We had some family over and would you believe I didn’t take one single pic. I find that I miss a lot of what’s going on if I take pictures at events so normally I just don’t take many and in this case none at all. Anyway, belated “Happy Birthday!” to my hubby (& his twin bro)!!

Coming soon….I’ve got a sneak peek of the holiday cards that will be available this season. It’s not too early to book your holiday session. I will have some special holiday session pricing soon as well. Can you believe it’s actually that time of year already?! Only 113 shopping days left!
