Photographers Gone Wild…

Over the weekend I had the chance to get together with some fellow photographers for a little meet-up. We chat & go crazy photographing all of our models (aka, children). Just my girl and I went and we had a blast. I think my girl was a little shell shocked when we first got there. With her curly red hair and freckles she is a camera magnet. There were seriously about 5-6 cameras in her face within the first 10 min. LOL. Don’t feel too bad for her though. She got rewarded greatly for her hard work. One Webkinz and two sets of Webkinz trading cards. Yeah, she’s high dollar.
Here are a few pics that I took at the meet-up…

gotta have one of my girl thrown in here…

This little one was too cute. Something a little different than my usual…

Quit Monkey-ing Around…

While helping a fellow photographer this past weekend I ran into a furry little critter. What could I possibly run in to in the city? Why a Capuchin Monkey of course!
This little guy came in with his human family to get a family portrait taken. The family is from Texas, but they travel with the dad’s job. Apparently you don’t need a permit to have a monkey for a pet in TX! Crazy! He was the cutest little thing though. Tiny furry guy, wearing a teeny tiny diaper and a little baby tee. He was so soft & furry!! A once in a lifetime thing I’m sure. Who else can say they were so up close & personal with a baby Capuchin monkey? ![]()

Yesterday my hubby & I went out to scout some locations around town. While I had him out there with me I made him model a little bit. You can tell he was thrilled, right? He was actually a pretty good sport. Thanks hunny!
We also had lunch at a place called Urban Flats, out in Ponte Vedra. Oh my! It was sooooo yummy! It’s very trendy & modern inside and they have non-traditional menu items. They are famous for their flat breads. I had the goat cheese, chicken, mozzarella & basil flat bread for my meal. We also had a delicious goat cheese & tomato bisque appetizer. It’s served with bread sticks for dipping. To DIE for! I could totally eat that for my whole meal! Anyways, if you are over in the Ponte Vedra area you should definitely check them out!

I’m an auntie again!

Remember this…
She is no longer in the belly. Sweet Baby K arrived on February 23rd! She is precious! Red haired like the rest of the little girls in our family! How crazy is that! We tried to get some pics around 1 week old, but miss K wasn’t having it. Here is the pic I got that day and there are more to come from our second session.

I know! I am such a blog slacker! I promise to be better. Yet again, I know! I’ve said that before. Really, this time, I’ll be better. I am setting blog reminders. LOL. So, twice a week, at least, I’ll be blogging! It will be easy at first b/c I have lots to catch you up on.
I was writing a post over a week ago and I’m such a perfectionist that I read/rewrite my posts several times to get them right. So this particular time I had been working on a post for 45 min and I hit one wrong button and LOST it all. Errrrrr! I’m going to start with that one.
Back in March I had the priviledge of attending an awesome workshop by none other than THE Zack Arias. The workshop is called the OneLight Workshop and if you need to learn about off-camera flash then this is the workshop for you. Zack is a great teacher. He’s humble, down to earth, willing to talk to you about anything no matter how big or small. I learned so much from this workshop and got to meet several other talented photographers as an added bonus.
Before I get to the pictures I have to give a shout out to Tasha from Homeshade Photography. If you’re in the Houston area and are having a baby, you definitely need to give Tasha a call. She does some incredible birth photography among other things. I met Tasha online and she was gracious enough to let me crash at her place while I was in Houston for the workshop. Not only that, but I got slightly (okay a little more than slightly) motion sick while there and she even let me drive her car for a good portion of the time I was there. For those of you who do not get motion sickness, driving the car makes you feel better. I have no idea why, but it does.
Enough rambling, on to the pictures. Oh, one more thing. Our models were Abel & Lisa from Houston Photog. They are photographers, but they also did a fantastic job of modeling for us that day.
and one more b/c her eyes are so dang cool.
