Baby Shower!

I love baby showers, so when my sister-in-law told us she was pregnant again, I knew just what I’d be doing in 8 mos. Throwing a shower and taking pictures of course. I went a little nutso trying to plan this one being that I can’t make a decision to save my life and I had to make my house presentable as well!

It was all going so well until the night before. Then I start to panic. Lots to do and so little time. As I go to bed at 1a.m. I feel like there’s so much left to do before guests arrive. I get up at 7:30a.m. and get a few things done and I start feeling better. I thought I was very much under control. Yeah right! Then comes 10a.m. and guests are going to start arriving at 11a.m. I’m having my husband throw together a dish to put in the oven while I finish my make-up. He comes to ask me if "I’m Sure" that ALL of these items go together. So I walk into the kitchen, still very under control, and realize what a stupid mistake I made. I was trying to combine two separate recipes! AHHHH! Not only do I waste 32 oz of sour cream, 16 oz of cream cheese and 8 oz of shredded cheese, I no longer have the time or enough ingredients to make the two different dishes. Now comes the panic mode! The dish needed to be in the oven by now and it’s almost 10:30a.m.! My MIL comes in about now and I get her to put together the more important of the two dishes. The first 30 min of the shower were a bit hectic, but after the initial craziness it all settled down. We played a couple of games, had plenty of food & the guest of honor got lots of great stuff for her new little princess.

I am not a product photographer, but I did manage to snap a couple shots of the cute favors I made and the flowers we decorated with.

I can’t stop with those though. I have to show you how great my SIL looks prego.

KISSing Booth…

I had the privilege of attending an awesome photographers convention recently. I got to hear some incredible speakers and see a ton of amazing products. I am looking forward to a fantastic 2008 and being able to offer some unique products to my clients in the near future.

While in town for the convention I was staying at a fellow photogs house with three other photographers. Four women photographers in one house! Oh my! We could not stop talking shop! Our hostesses poor husband couldn’t get a word in edgewise. They had the most adorable little boy, but as crazy as it sounds I did not take one single picture the whole time I was there. The convention kept us pretty busy. I had to get up at 5am to get to the convention center by 7am for our first class and we didn’t get back home until 8pm at the earliest. It was exhausting, but so fun and inspirational!

Soooo, on to a piece of the fun I can share with you all! There is an album company called KISS and they had a photo booth set up at their station. Of course, what else would pull a bunch of photographers to your table, but a PHOTO booth! Can you tell we were having a BLAST?!

Bad! Bad! Blogger!

I am such a bad blogger! I can’t believe it’s been TWO whole months since I posted on here! I am truly sorry for any of you who have been checking back and seeing the same old posts. I like to visit bloggers who post regularly so I am going to try to be better about posting. Btw, feel free to let me know you were here by commenting. It’s super easy and I’d love to hear from you! I can definitely promise that I will try to make at least one post a week if not more from now on!

I have sooooo many things to talk about I’m not sure where to begin! Let’s start with hoping you all had a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Year! I feel like it was all a dream! It went by so fast. I procrastinated my Christmas shopping yet again so I was out the week before Christmas trying to get my shopping finished. We had get togethers galore and I also had a special photo session that I can’t post just yet, but hopefully soon. Santa brought the kids each a DS Lite + accessories, hubby got a new Zune & Guitar Hero III, and I got a new camera!
