National Blog Month & my Sk8er Boi…

Holy cow! Is it really November 8th?? This month is National Blog Posting Month and I’ve already missed a whole freakin’ week. Hmmmm. Maybe I can make up days by posting more than once on 7 of the remaining days. Yeah…we’ll go with that. So from today on I am going to post once (sometimes twice) a day.
Remember in my last post I said that we had had a bunch of sickies at our house? Well, apparently my son didn’t get all his sickies out. Last Monday he came down with a fever of 104.1. I took him to the doctor on Wednesday (b/c we all know if you go too early then the doc says, "sorry, it’s just a cold. Just let it take its course) and she diagnosed him with a sinus infection. Great, we’ll get an antibiotic and he’ll be back at school in a day or two. Or…not so great. Seems the medicine didn’t work. On Monday of this week we got a different prescription in hopes it would knock the infection out. By this time he’s already missed almost a whole week of school and now we’re starting on a new medication. Good news is that the new prescription seems to be working and yesterday he went a whole day with no fever and no Motrin. Woo-hoo! Bad news is that the drainage into his throat was apparently so bad that it sent him into a coughing fit in the car and he threw-up 4-5 times in a 3 min time span. We were on our way to Target so we turned around, came back to the house, got cleaned up and headed back out to Target. I gave him some cough medicine last night and this morning and it seems to be helping. They said he didn’t cough much at school & I haven’t noticed him coughing a whole lot since he came home.
Since I had my baby boy home with me for 9 days I decided to sqquueeeezzze in a small mini session with him. He’s not a very cooperative subject normally. However, seeing as he was a little under the weather he actually let me take several shots of him. It might have helped that he got to wear his new shirt and hat that he loves and play with his skateboard. He looks so much older in these shots, but I’m telling myself that it’s just the hat.
