A Gorgeous Family…

On Friday I had the pleasure of photographing an awesome family. They were so much fun. It almost wasn’t even work. Just hanging out and chatting. It had been raining on and off all day, but the rain let up just enough for us to get some nice shots. They have a one yr old little boy who was just precious.
I’ve had a busy weekend of pumpkin carving, but I promised this family that I would have a sneak peek of their session posted by the end of the weekend. Thank you so much for the opportunity to photograph your beautiful family!

Pumpkins, pumpkins everywhere…

Every year we carve pumpkins. It started the year Caitlin was born (2000) and we haven’t missed a year yet. With all the sickness we’ve had in our house lately we had yet to pick out our pumpkins. Everyone is finally on the mend and yesterday seemed as good a day as any for pumkin picking so we headed out to the pumpkin patch. It was kind of a dreary day outside. Overcast and the threat of rain, but still over 80 degrees. Hey, at least it wasn’t hot & muggy, right?
The kids love pulling the red Radio Flyer around the patch as we all look for our perfect pumpkin. This year we had to teach Hayden the ins & outs of what makes a good pumpkin. He kept adding pumpkin after pumpkin to our wagon. Finally he found some "really smooth"ones as he called them and we traded them out for the not-so-smooth ones in our wagon. At the end of our journey we came away with 1 large pumpkin, 1 medium, 1 small and 4 really small pumpkins.

So, I have indeed been blog tagged AGAIN! This time by the talented Marianne of Patty-Cake Photography. My last tag wasn’t too long ago, but it was on the old blog and I desperately need to start posting more so I figured what the heck. I am cheating just a little though. I’m stealing some of my answers from my last tag and I’m not tagging anyone else.

What is "Blog Tag" you ask? It’s kind of like the game you played when you were a kid except instead of smacking them and yelling, "Tag! You’re it!", now you use blog comments to yell, "TAG, YOU’RE IT!" There are several versions going around, but in this case being "it" means you must list 8 little known facts about yourself and then tag some others.
Here goes…
- I’m a grown woman and I STILL only eat ketchup on my hamburger. Sometimes I’ll get a little crazy and add some cheese, but for the most part, it’s ketchup only for me.
- My hubby & I only dated for ~6 months before getting married. Then, to top that off we got married at the courthouse b/c we couldn’t wait and then had a ceremony 5 months later. Oh, wait, did I mention that we were only 19 (him) & 20 (me)?
- I used to have my tongue & belly button pierced. My doc recommended taking out my belly ring with my first pregnancy and I had to take out my tongue ring with my second pregnancy due to having a c-section. I miss them both terribly!
- I can wiggle my ears without using my hands. My kids think it’s the funniest thing!
- I’m a "lazy perfectionist". This simply means that I like things done the RIGHT way but maybe I don’t have the time or the desire or the know-how to do it the right way so I just avoid it because I can’t do it the way I think it needs to be done. P
- I went tandem skydiving when I was 18. I got motion sickness and was in bed the whole afternoon afterwards and had a partially collapsed lung a couple months later which the doctor said was probably due to the unpressurized airplane.
- I am a hard core procrastinator! It’s in my blood!
- Hi, my name is Katie and I’m addicted to the internet. I could spend hours checking forums, browsing Flickr, reading blogs, shopping. Can’t go a day without it!
