Introducing…Cherry Street Photo

Yay! My new blog is finally here! Katie Higginbotham Photography has undergone a name change and a face lift! My new business name is Cherry Street Photo. I still have some loose ends to tie up, but I am tired of waiting so this is where you can find me from now on.
Along with my new image I have added a section that will have prints available for purchase as well as wallpaper for your desktop. You can find available prints in the "Cherry Street Art" album in the left column.
Thanks so much for visiting and once I get my ducks in a row I’ll have my official grand opening.
I am currently taking on a limited number of sessions from now until November 17 so please contact me soon if you would like to schedule a session. Being that newborns are best photographed within their first two weeks of life I will absolutely have a few openings during my off time since they have such a short window of newborn sweetness.

Session Fees
Regular Session: $125
(1-2 people, $25 for each additional person)
Lasting 1-2 hrs.
Newborn Session: $175 (up to 6wks of age)
Lasting 2-3 hrs
A $50 retainer fee is required to hold the date & time of your session and will be applied to your session fee. The balance is to due on the day of your session.
The session fee covers the time & talent of the photographer. No images are included in the session fee.
Session fee is non-refundable.

My name is Katie and I’m the founder of Cherry Street Photo. I am a natural light, on-location custom photographer. This means I prefer to use our natural surroundings whether it be at your home, a downtown urban area, or a park to capture the best possible images of this time in your life. I use primarily natures flash, the sun, because it makes for a more natural look. There are some times when the sun just doesn’t cooperate though so in those times I will use a flash.
Sessions will last approximately 1-2 hrs at either your home or other chosen location. During our session I will take as many digital images as I feel necessary to ensure that I capture images you will love.
Two weeks after your session you’ll be presented with 15-25 proofs of both black/white & color photos in an online gallery.
Newborn Session – Newborns are best photographed within their first 2 weeks of life. Sessions will be held at your home or if you would prefer, mine. I like to capture them dressed mostly in their birthday suit and sleeping peacefully. Let’s face it, clothes just don’t fit those little scrunched up bodies & sleeping is what babies do best. They came into this world pure & innocent with just the skin on their backs and that is the way I love to capture them.
Your newborn session will last 1-3 hrs. We will have plenty of time for impromtu feedings, diaperings, or other common baby breaks. Two weeks after your session your will be presented with 15-25 proofs of mostly black & white photos in an online gallery.
Here at Cherry Street Photo I want you to enjoy your portrait experience. Before I attempt to stick a camera in your face I will do my best to ensure that everyone is relaxed & comfortable. Because I am a custom photographer I take pride in giving my customers the utmost personal attention. If you have a question please do not hesitate to ask. If we need to pause our session to take a breather, change a diaper, feed a hungry baby, by all means that is what we will do. My goal is for you to have a comfortable, fun, enjoyable session.

I am a mother, a wife, a woman, a friend, a PHOTOGRAPHER. I’ve always been a visual person. I’ve loved all things creative since I can remember. It wasn’t until a couple years ago that I found my true creative passion to be photography. Photography is a way to express myself visually. I love taking a photo and freezing that ordinary moment for but a brief click of the shutter…turning that everyday moment into an extraordinary moment that will last a lifetime.
To put it into words, my work is posed, photojournalistic, fun, serious, color, black & white. I love details, I love “creative” crops (yes, I may cut a head off and yes, I meant to do that ), I love little feet, I love REAL smiles (no “cheese” smiles please), I love images that tell a story.
